Zoom Zoom! This Week Has Been.

Ok, sorry for the semi-Yoda-esqe title up there. But in a nutshell that’s how my week has been. Hard to believe that today is Friday already. Most people I’m trying to reach out to today are either out of the office or not answering their phones at all. So I decided to try to contact a few potential candidates for some searches I’m working on (anyone know of a good entry-level ColdFusion Developer willing to relocate to Greenville, SC? If so, call me! :) ).

The networking events I went to this week were great. Meet a good number of people and reestablished some relationships i made the last time I saw that person. I met this really neat gentleman who does Six Sigma consulting and market analysis, etc. Fascinating. He was the only person at the Tech After 5 event that recognized my car listed on my badge (GT-R). So we had a good few minutes to chat.

Also had a candidate do really well on a phone interview this week and next week he’ll be going in for a personal interview. Yeah! That’s good cause if they like him he’ll probably get an offer then if he takes the position then I’ll be a happy man! And I am finally getting some movement from a search I started working on back in March! I’ve had some candidates presented to this company for a while and they are finally starting to move and reach out to them. Like trying to move a mountain…

(In case you are wondering, I am still doing some recruiting while working on building my sales pipeline. Got a few searches that I’ve been working on.)

On a frustrating note, my faithful laptop finally died this past week. I tried to rebuild it twice but no go. Wouldn’t even boot up this morning. :( Now gotta figure out how to get a nice new PC with no money. Ah, such is life and technology. Good thing for my USB drive in that I was able to copy all my documents over without any issue. I hope that thing doesn’t crash on me. hehe.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day. I’ll be playing some much needed board games with some family and friends as well as a little Wii Fit action (yes, after 2 days of doing 30 minutes exercise I am sore).
