Munching on Thoughts.

I’m munching on my turkey and swiss sandwich at the moment and catching up on a few recruiting blogs and articles. What I’ve found interesting is that because you’re on the ‘net looking for candidates and on the phone interviewing that there isn’t always a ton of up-to-date info and active discussions regarding things related to recruiting. I have definitely found that it’s even hard to take a 5 minute break to read the news during the day. This is why I usually blog at nighttime or even during lunch when I make myself take a breather off the phones and from searching. My brain thanks me for that.

I read an interesting article today about how to measure blogging. I’m assuming the author is talking about blogging in regards to the recruiting industry.

Makes me wonder. How do I measure my blog? In reality I don’t measure it too much. For me it’s an exercise in writing, a place where I can keep a diary of sorts on my weekly activities as a Recruiter, and to have fun. I’m not expecting heavy traffic, but I do hope that some of the articles I write are helpful to those on the other side of recruiting (ie candidates and clients). Who knows, maybe someone will think I’m a subject matter expert and hire me to speak to a large audience. hehe

What I’d really like though is for some Angel Investor/VC to help me fund my video game software development firm here in the Upstate of South Carolina. Now that would rock.

I went to a really good GSATC seminar yesterday about Cybercrime. It was fascinating and eye-opening as well. Ate some great food and networked a little but not enough. Hopefully I can make it out to some more GSATC functions in the future.

Food tidbit: Provolone and Turkey is a little better than Swiss and Turkey for sandwich and it all washes down well with Dr. Pepper

Well, sandwich is gone and it’s pretty outside today. I need to work on my steps for our wellness program. :)
