Headhunter Diaries - 2nd Day Down! Yeah!
Wow. My brain hurts. hehe. For the last 2 days I’ve been reading, meeting new people, learning new tools, going over HR stuff, and learning the ropes of how to become a successful IT Recruiter.
It’s very cool.
I’ve started to use some tools out there that the company has and have been pretty impressed with the database of knowledge at my hands. Information is only as good as the tools to extract it and the person who uses it. The tools to extract the data are there and I’m working on the part where I can sift through the not-so-good stuff and find the good stuff.
Hint to all your job seekers out there: Typographical errors on your resume pretty much put your chances of standing out and having a recruiter look at it pretty slim. So take a few extra minutes and proof read those resumes! It’s not that hard.
Oh, don’t embellish either. You will be found out and you will never get a decent job (or at least one that you will be at for any length of time).
I’m working on some basic searches now as a learning tool and to start getting my feet wet. It seems overwhelming initially, but really isn’t that hard. You just have to know where to look.
So if you’re looking for some IT work (or anything else for that matter because our other divisions place accounting, healthcare, office support, etc) then let me know!
