I’m utilizing WP 2.8.2, a free theme, and a couple plug-ins (twitter, akismet, etc.). I also have Google Analytics installed to see how traffic goes. So far I’ve had 1 developer send me a code to try out their game (Flipn’ Monsters!) and so I reviewed it for them.

More to come as I have a # of games to review yet. Spread the word!

Unless all of a sudden all these candidates do something I’m stuck with trying to get a 360 the old fashioned way: saving money! hehe So, it might be a while.

Hmm, maybe I should put up a paypal donate button for folk to donate money to my 360 fund?

On other gaming fronts, the Wii’s game lineup is looking really nice the next few months. Mario Kart next week, Wii Fit shortly thereafter, WiiWare in May, Boom Blox this summer as well. Yum. Go Nintendo! Now can someone come up with a really really nice tactical FPS for the Wii?

What a great game. Graphics are pretty slick, the gameplay is outstanding, and the characters are unique. If you have a Wii and don’t have any good Virtual Console games yet then let me suggest you pick up Punch Out! for 500 points. Well worth it.

Now to troll YouTube for videos on how to beat him…

I also upgraded the site to WP 2.5 and it’s pretty smooth so far. The only problem I’m having is the visual editor is not working correctly. I’m trying to figure out what’s up. So if any strange posting errors appear then it’s because my HTML coding skills are not up to par and I’m trying to do this by hand.

You might be thinking…what is Whirled? Well, here’s a decent discussion thread about it. I think it’s just something fairly new and creative and brings together social networking and gaming in a web 2.0 type of interface. Will it succeed? Probably so because everything I have seen Three Rings put out has been terrific (Puzzle Pirates, Bang! Howdy, GameGardens, etc)

Don’t expect Whirled to be this a WarCraft type of MMO because it’s not. Do expect it can siphon a few minutes of  your time away decorating your house though!

What I might do when I get through this program is write up a nice e-book and offer it to others. Could be a good resource. What do you think?

Jayisgames.com is one of the top resources for all news and info on the growing Casual Games market. It’s a great resource to go to in order to find out what’s hot, what’s coming, and what’s good. One of my favorite sites to read and browse. Recently they just recently announced the finalists for their 5th Casual Gameplay Design Competition. This competition is  pretty slick because a lot of new game designers and indie game companies can showcase their (hopefully) original creations and we (the masses) get to vote on them.

I’m just now starting to play a couple of the games and have already enjoyed it so far. It’s a great way to waste a few minutes here and there when you need a mental break from work.

What are you waiting for? Go play some games and vote!

I’ve been extremely excited about the WiiWare channel since it was announced last year. I think it will be a terrific outlet for original IP games that could really invigorate the stale gaming industry (in my opinion). With such a large user base of Wii’s in the US and world; this kind of channel will be an excellent outlet for a lot of indie development houses to get their games on the mass market. I expect that we will some some incredible games come out come May 12 and onward. Of course I also expect we will see some really sorry games as well. That’s par for the course with something like this. I do hope that those companies coming out with shoddy games won’t have much success, no matter how cheap the games are!

One of my favorite sites that is now covering WiiWare gaming news is VC-Reviews.com. They have done some exclusive interviews with some of the developers that are working on WiiWare games. So go check them out.
