Ah, the Details.

Sorry for the quick post yesterday. This week has been crazy. Now that I’m doing mostly sales calls I’m also trying to schedule meetings with potential clients and many times the only way to do that is via a lunch meeting. Well, I used to blog during lunch since that’s when I would sit and eat my yummy hot pocket (ugh) and write. Alas, now I have to figure out when to write again.

Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know that I did make my 1st permanent placement yesterday. Kinda funny in that I make a placement when I’m now actually doing more sales. Just so happen to have the right candidate at the right time when the right opportunity opened up. As our CEO says it’s “low-hanging fruit”.

The position is for a Systems Administrator (Linux/Unix) for a large client of ours here in G’ville. The candidate will be starting in a few weeks but wanted to get things wrapped up before he headed out of town for a bit.

We billed around $10K for this position since it was a mid-level position and our fee with our client isn’t that high (due to volume we staff with them) so my cut won’t be huge, but will be a nice bonus. Especially with the baby coming in November! :)

Would our client ever have found this guy without us? Possibly but unlikely because the candidate was a semi-passive candidate that was happy where he was. We were able to present him to the company and get an interview then an offer all within 2 weeks. Oh, did I mention that this was the only candidate we presented for this position. That’s the value we bring to the table. We find Great People.

So today I got to honk our horn downstairs and shake hands with everyone and give my spiel about the job, fee, etc. It was nice to honk the horn and encouraging as well. I think it also motivates everyone else to keep working hard at finding Great People!

Until next time…
