About Me
Hey!
So who is behind this blog? Well, no one famous, infamous, rich, or poor. Just someone who likes business, entrepreneurism, technology, gaming, and more.
Well, a little about me. I grew up in the Philippines. My parents are missionaries over there and I loved every minute of it! It’s also where I began my love affair with business and technology.
The Sari-Sari Store
When I was about 8 or so I wanted to open up a small Sari-Sari store to sell candy to high school students that used to walk by our house on their way to and from school. So my mom took me to the local store and we stocked up on some candy, mints, etc. I was all excited cause I was having my own business! Yay! I put the candy in jars with my mom’s help and proceeded to setup shop by the road.
Time went on and I actually did sell stuff! Of course being an 8 year old I was more interested in eating the candy and playing in the dirt than selling so my business didn’t last too long. After the initial stock was sold out I think my mom dissolved things and I went back to being a kid and playing instead of making money. Go figure.
8th Grade Enterprises
Fast forward a few years and we’re in the States for my 8th grade year (furlough). I had a bright idea to bring a knife that was made in the Philippines to school to try to sell it. Bright, I know. I made some good money on selling the knife! I bought it for about $2 in the Philippines and sold it for around $10 or so to a classmate. I was stoked! Mad profit! I then proceeded to buy some of those really cheap fireworks ~ those little snap novelty things that you throw on the ground ~ and sell them to some classmates. Again during school. Needless to say I didn’t keep up with that end of the business cause knives + fireworks = bad in school.
Ah, good memories.
Y2K and Beyond
Moving forward a good number of years and I’m out of college, married (no kids yet), and still loving business. I love coming up with business ideas, writing business plans, and looking for niches that are unfulfilled or not fulfilled properly. I just came off running a business for the last couple of years and am planning on going back to school to work on my MBA and ready for a new challenge!
The great thing about living in this Country is that it’s so easy to start your own business. Stick around this blog and hopefully you can be inspired as well!
